Psychology Books
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR)
Summary: “For educational purposes only, research for consideration, not for direct diagnosis.” Saying that, each professional has something to say on the who what why when and how… for story drama, course work, insight and research. There is something for everyone. Easy read to detailed.
The crossover is Robert Mckee’s book called Character. The one book to read that could cover many subjects in one… Robert Greene’s The Laws of Human Nature.
For psychology counselling… Margret Hough’s Counselling Skills and Theory.
Trauma processing… Bessel knows what he is talking about. The human mind and brain are a reality machine, what is unhealthy for one, can be very unhealthy for two, understand trauma bonding. Those who require help, may do the exact opposite and project over time.
Chase, Paul, Joe, Pamela and Sam have insight on lying.
Self-awareness… give it a try… 90% assume they are self-aware, it’s closer to 10-15%. 80% are lying to themselves. What is key is not the starting position; knowing what kind of family or work culture holds back insight and why.
Everyone here has written a great read with insight, more will follow shortly.
True or False: Men and women abuse others in totally different ways. One is more deceptive than the other, one is more abusive in public compared to behind closed doors, one is more controlling. Both believe to be entitled to what the think over others due to a flawed perception. The assumption that abusers struggle with, they don;t own other people’s perceptions like a two year own may assume when crying for food. All abusers use the opposite deflection linked to pathological lying.
Is it a trick conclusion, does an abuser still have a child’s mind? Watch the video, read books, seek professional advice.
Course Work
The depth these books go to and to present patterns in the mind, brain, body and the generations is quite incredible. From 20% to 60% of characters can be passed on via genetics. A negative effect on education through the generations can cause slower development in children and adults, as will specific environments that have overt or covert abuse, restrictions, not understanding the words ‘yes’ and no’ correctly. The key is universal education and balance with consideration for several influencing elements. Nothing should be taken at face value. I use the term ‘mind software’ if the brain is regarded as the hardware. Perception is made from what is absorbed and how it is processed. Agenda can affect the interpretation and incorrectly filter.
Rick goes beyond the first thought and on into connection. While studying Psychology, his book was great and not that far from psychology systems.
Body Language & Lie Detection
Body language and lie detection can be seen as learning a second language—micro-expressions, posture, temperament, agenda, tone, presentation, pattern study, clusters, etc. The human being can give away up to 70% via body language in simple conversation. Depending on brain activation, connection to emotions, or lack of connection in the pre-frontal cortex, the body ‘tells’ more than we think. Every part of the body offers something… even doing nothing is an action.
Timing, situation, eyes, eye dilation, mouth, hands, feet, position, muted or obvious (limbic system reactions) and best of all… research with joining the dots and when ripples are felt in the water along with a baseline, the truth comes to the surface. In extreme situations where abuse or crimes are hidden, the psychological mirror will give the truth. These books give an open door to what everyone is saying. As a behavoier specialist to help with the truth, a person must learn to spot the lie.
Systems - pt1
Dark Triad, Tetrad & History
More research on those who have learned to hide in plain sight and use other people’s truth bias (remove it and pay attention) to manipulate. Plus, Story Drama always have the odd naughty person who lacks self awareness with a childhood agenda for power and control. What happens to those who become self-aware and don’t care? They leave a trail like those unaware, and they all like a grandiose status. The child is still very present in the voice… in many cases fueled by hurt and difference in the Pre-Frontal Cortex, Hypocampaus and the Amygdala.
APS - Not knowing the difference between right and wrong
Immoral: Describes someone who purposely commits an offensive act, even though they know the difference between what is right and wrong.
Nonmoral: Describes situations in which morality is not a concern.
Amoral: Describes someone who acknowledges the difference between right and wrong, but who is not concerned with morality.
The Dark Tetrad has a much darker element combined - Sadism.
For example, “I like it when I make them cry.” The unfortunate truth is that it starts with childhood and hides in plain sight.
